THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL
The Appalachian Trail (AT) is just 3.7 miles from Mt. Liberty Lodging crossing Interstate 93 just north of the Liberty Springs Trailhead Parking area. Each year dozens of thru hikers stay at Mt. Liberty Lodging. The AT in New Hampshire is arguably some of the most challenging along the 2,190 mile trail. Nearby sections include Mt. Moosilauke, The Kinsmen, and Franconia Ridge with four peaks over 4,000' (Mt Lafayette 5,260', Little Haystack Mountain 4,760', Mount Lincoln 5,089' and Mount Liberty 4,459').
